Why does my park assist turn off?
False Park Assist alerts (Fig. 20) may occur on some 2019-2021 Silverado and Sierra trucks when there is not an object in front and/or behind the vehicle. As a result of the alert, the system may disable itself and a Park Assist Off message may be displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
Why do my parking sensors stay on?
Proximity alert relies on sensors that are strategically placed around the body. Many times, this will solve your problem: The sensor has been obstructed with dirt or snow and needs to be wiped clean. If the alert is still beeping, there may be an electric issue in the system.
Why is my reverse sensor beeping?

How do back up sensors work?
Ultrasonic sensors work while stationary or while moving and use sound waves to detect objects in-front of the sensor. By pulsating sound in a high-frequency that reflects off near-by objects, a receiver can catch the reflected waves and calculate the distance to the detected objects.
What does park assist blocked mean?

What does the P with 3 lines and a triangle mean?
A more advanced version offers the ability to actually find a parking space. When activated, the blue icon with the letter P inside will be seen. This Park Assist system then maneuvers the vehicle in to parallel and perpendicular parking spaces.
How can you tell if the sensor is bad?
The sensor’s out put can be checked with a voltmeter, or observed on a scan tool. If there are any drops in the output as the throttle opens, the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. On some older vehicles, the idle voltage setting of the sensor must be adjusted to a specified voltage.
